COURSE OVERVIEW

The Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology aims at providing a scientific understanding of mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these; with a special focus on the application of psychology in industry and the community.

The programme objectives are delivered through lectures, tutorials and laboratory work and a range of assessment methods including project work, presentations, reflective journals, written assignments and examinations.

The overall aims of the programme are to:

  • Develop the student’s understanding of the scientific principles and theories of the mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these;
  • Develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of psychological approaches and how to select and apply these in different industrial and community settings;
  • Develop the student’s ability to communicate effectively;
  • Develop the ability to manage time effectively and work independently or in a group.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course is designed to offer a modern approach to the wide range of psychology issues, with a special focus on helping the communities and the application in the industry.

Students are offered a comprehensive and broad spectrum of psychology modules, covering all major themes in psychology, including a deep theoretical understanding and practical development of professional skills, as well as the application of knowledge and skills in the different career paths.

The emphasis is put on a critical thinking and proactive learning process, which offers all students a unique educational experience and cutting-edge preparation to join the body of the highly qualified professionals in the area of human communication and behaviour modification.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Students whose native language is not English must submit evidence of proficiency in the language. Students must meet the minimum English Standard as stipulated below to commence their registered Advanced Diploma/Bachelor/Master courses with Raffles College of Higher Education.

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 5.5, taken during the last two years
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 525 (Paper-based) or 70 (Internet-based), taken during the last two years
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) with a minimum score of 620
  • GCE 'O' Level English Language Examination of C6
  • Completion of Advanced English with Raffles College of Higher Education, Singapore
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0, taken during the last two years
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 550 (Paper-based) or 79 (Internet-based), taken during the last two years
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) with a minimum score of 650
  • GCE 'O' Level English Language Examination of C6
  • Completion of Advanced English with Raffles College of Higher Education, Singapore
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.5, taken during the last two years
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 575 (Paper-based) or 90 - 91 (Internet-based), taken during the last two years
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) with a minimum score of 700
English Speaking Countries Non-English Speaking Countries
Course is undertaken solely in the English Language The study was completed in an institution which is listed in the International Handbook of Universities, World Higher Education Database, UK Naric Database or AEI NOOSR guides and is conducted and examined solely in the English Language

The College reserves the right to verify applicant's standard of English through English Placement test for applicants applying through Part B. (*Only applicable to RCDC Programmes)
Students who do not meet the minimum requirement as stipulated above will need to take the Raffles College of Higher Education's English Placement Test

AGE REQUIREMENTS

For All Advanced Diploma Programmes
The minimum age requirement is 16-years of age.

For All Top up Bachelor Programmes
The minimum age requirement is 18-years of age.
