India – CANVAS, the annual sports and cultural extravaganza organised by Raffles Greater Noida unfolded with great excitement in March 2015. Celebrated every year with great pomp and gusto, students took the opportunity to showcase their literary, sports and cultural talents through mind boggling quizzes, fun games, cheery music, dance, creative painting, sports and other challenging competitions.

Graced by Prof. Mahesh Gandhi, the Director General, Dr. Krishna Rao, Campus Director as well as Dr. Vishal Talwar, Dean of the School of Management, the fest amidst great cheer and excitement as everyone participated to their fullest. The atmosphere were filled with a joy, anticipation and energy as more than 1,800 students from approximately 120 universities and institutes from across the Delhi region participated in the unique celebration of harmony in diversity, focusing on four major types of events – Literary, Cultural, Sporting and Technology. Some major universities and institutes in the region included Delhi University, Indraprastha University, Galgotia University, Sharda University, Jaipuria, Army Institute, IMS, ITS, Accurate Group of Institutions.

Other highlights included street plays, fashion show, group singing and dance presentations besides the many sports activities.

CANVAS was also successfully promoted by students via social media and personal interaction. The organising committee were grateful to major sponsors such as Kingdom of Dreams, WOW, Zebronics Electronics, Laddakh Safari, J-Square, & Reverb in addition to the refreshment partners: Bisleri, Urzza, Lipton Tea, & Parle-G. These companies were highly impressed by the quality, atmosphere and expanse of Raffles Greater Noida, and even promised to provide financial assistance and sponsorship for the event in future. Overall, the festival was a dazzling success and many of them have already planned to come back next year!
