SINGAPORE – Our Raffles Jewellery Designers were invited to participate in the upcoming competition, themed Glitz and Glamour. Raffles Jewellery Designer and Chief Designer of Illuma Diamonds, Ms. Jil LIN, and Founder, Mr. Jason LEE, visited our Raffles Singapore campus on 20th October, to share more about the company and competition. The organisation believes that expertly crafted jewellery symbolises one’s style and story and should therefore be accessible to everyone who wishes to declare their love.

Being an online bridal diamond jewellery company with a technology soul, the goal of this competition is to incentivise jewellery design based on current trends in bridal fashion, thus promoting contemporary bridal collections that are commercially appealing and distinctive. Students will present their ideas and sketches on 10th Nov 2017 and selected individuals will receive awards from Illuma, and be granted an exclusive opportunity to have their designs made into real jewellery pieces.

Our students learnt that by integrating creativity and design principles through drawing skills and hands-on projects, they will be able to generate design concepts and develop them into final products. They also understood that by integrating their own identity into their designs they will then be able to sustain a compelling market position by differentiating their brand from competitors and staying ahead in the fast-paced industry.
