Pairing Art With Fashion With Joe Spinelli

Singapore – In a class of one’s own, Joe Spinelli, Principal of Raffles College of Higher Education and Programme Director of Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing, never cease to impress many with his trendsetting fashion designs. For the second time, Joe was invited to collaborate with Opera Gallery for its 20th Anniversary whereas in October 2013, the collaboration was for the launch of a Spanish artist, Lita Cabellut. Opera Gallery is the world’s leading gallery since 1994 and they have launched some of the most successful world-class exhibitions, working alongside with distinguished artists. Over the years, Opera Gallery has flourished and expanded into participating in internationally renowned fairs and they’re on the crest of a wave.

“In honour of their 20th Anniversary, we’ve invited Jean-Pierre Roc-Roussey and Pierre Matter and once again, the extremely creative Joe Spinelli for an exciting collaboration that marries art and fashion,” said Stephane Le Pelletier, Director Asia Pacific, Opera Gallery.

Drawing inspirations from Jean-Pierre Roc-Roussey and Pierre Matter’s prized museum-quality works, Joe’s collection was nothing short of brilliance. Ten garments that Joe created, practically walked out of the paintings and sculptures, tastefully accentuating the baroque aesthetics elements and cognitive conjuring into wearable fashion garments. Bringing the graceful figures into reality armoured in vibrant garments, Joe’s collection performed like sirens, tempting guests to come in closer and gaze upon their beauty. The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves, and Joe Spinelli leads by example, being the industry relevance as Raffles Creative Practitioner and a true role model for Raffles Fashion Designers to follow.
