Singapore – Four Raffles Jewellery Designers namely Teo Wen Yan, Debbie Chung Fui Yin, Yang Yang and Elsie Zheng Zhiqi from Raffles Singapore took centre stage with their jaw-dropping creations at the Design for Freedom Jewellery Design Competition 2014. Wen Yan bagged third prize for her award-winning bling titled “The Flourishing Life” while the others stood out above the rest in Top 15.

Organised by the World Of Diamonds, producers of rare and exceptional diamonds as well as unique high-end Jewellery, the inaugural competition aims to educate the public on cultured diamonds and increase awareness of conflict-free diamonds as well as to promote design innovation in Singapore by collaborating with leading local Jewellery design institutions.

“I am grateful to Raffles Creative Practitioner Sandra Fie for her guidance, and also Raffles for providing quality education facilities for conducive learning. This competition has been a good exposure for me as I have learned that the market needs are geared towards commercial styles.” said Wen Yan.

Wen Yan’s inspiration came from the urge to be released and freed whenever one is in distress and her design styles were contemporary and bold. As a top student for Advanced Diploma in Jewellery Design, she is now pursuing Bachelor of Design with major in Jewellery Design.
