Drowning in My Own Skin
“Drowning in My Own Skin” is inspired by Picasso’s mistress and muse, Dora Maar. She was mentally tortured in her relationship with Picasso. No one expected her to be a “prisoner”. This is where I was inspired to use a straight jacket to illustrate how tormented she was. I have used words and painted details to show her dedication to art. As a photographer, painter, and poet, she was more than a muse and tormented soul.
