As Principal of Raffles College of Higher Education I am especially privileged to present “Diversity”, our graduation exhibition and fashion showcase.
Diversity is simply defined by the understanding that each of us is a unique individual and recognizing that we are all distinctive people. For many of us, it is about accepting one another and moving beyond the simple act of tolerance. It is about embracing what makes us unique and diverse, celebrating our eccentricities that make each of us individual.
For many of the students, it begins with an exploration of themselves and their ideas. The sketchbook and journals have become a safe environment to explore extraordinary ideas and concepts. At times, it becomes an obsession that can go on for years as they strive to explore this unique and diverse side of their creativity. It helps to define and propel them towards this ultimate goal, the zenith or the highest point; the graduation show. For many students, this pinnacle seems very daunting to attain at the beginning. Every experience, every twist and turn on this journey, brings them closer to achieving their dreams.
Once again, that familiar ritual is occurring this year, where the graduating cohort leaves Raffles College of Higher Education to begin to live the life and career that our dedicated staff has prepared them for, over their many years of study. We look forward to our graduating students in keeping the tradition and passion alive. On behalf of the staff of Raffles College of Higher Education, we wish them much success in their future endeavours.
