“Ayam Brand Singapore is delighted to work with Raffles for our competition. All drawings were so wonderful that we had a tough choice selecting the top 3 winners. We hope the winning students’ works that will be printed on one million Ayam Brand sardine cans, would be a great testimony of the dedicated team of creative practitioners and talented students Raffles has.” said Priscilla Tan, Marketing Manager of Ayam Brand.

Themed “My Singapore Memory” and “Creating Memories – Singapore National Service”, the competition was opened to all schools and the public and had attracted more than 700 entries. Six designs will be chosen with the first batch to be produced and distributed in February 2015, while the next three designs will be unveiled before Singapore’s National Day celebration.

“I was overwhelmed by the results and believed my design can make a difference to the public. I have incorporated various iconic elements of Singapore such as The Merlion and Singapore Flyer into the design, together with four people of different races to symbolise Singapore as a multiracial country. I hope to instill a sense of happiness and joy that would appeal to the consumers.” said Shi Ee.

On the contrary, Shu Yi was inspired by the scene of National flags displayed in every Singaporean’s home during National Day as it brings out the celebrative atmosphere. She also hopes to advocate harmony and unity when Singaporeans stay together under one roof despite the multicultural and multi-ethnic society.

“Through this competition, I have gained more experience, expanded my creativity in the packaging design aspect and enhanced my portfolio for my future career development.” said Shu Yi.

Shi Ee’s design was now in major supermarkets and retail stores, while the others will be distributed in the second phase.
