Raffles Singapore’s Light Installation at i Light Marina Bay 2018 “Urban Rice Field”

SINGAPORE – Raffles Singapore’s light installation, “Urban Rice Field”, was featured in Nylon Singapore as one of the 8 Insta-worthy exhibits!

Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the sixth edition of the sustainable light art festival will run from 9 March to 1 April 2018, and Raffles Singapore is proud to participate in this year’s festival.

Raffles Singapore’s light installation will be lit along the Marina Boulevard, and set against the picturesque Marina Bay skyline at the i Light Marina Bay 2018.

Conceptualised by a multidisciplinary team of Raffles Designers from Product, Interior, and Visual Communication faculties, the artwork titled “Urban Rice Fields” was selected by the curatorial representatives from URA, ArtScience Museum, National Arts Council, and various industry experts.

The installation, made of bamboo, symbolizes the built environment of Singapore, and mimics the natural terraces of the paddy fields found in Southeast Asian countries which rely on their agricultural industry.

Visitors are encouraged to walk around the installation to capture their pictures using flash photography to unveil layers of hidden designs all around the artwork, set against the bright cityscape of Singapore.

Do not miss Raffles Singapore’s installation from 9 March till 1 April @ i Light Marina Bay 2018!
