The rapidity of technological advancements in the fast-paced digital entertainment industry plays an important part of the changing scene of visual communication, including design disciplines such as animation and video game design. Recognising the need to keep pace with the rapidly evolving design environment, the Diploma in Animation & Game Design programme aims to provide students with an industry-focused learning platform to establish a solid foundation in animation and game media design.

Through practical-based modules in the programme, students will be introduced to a wide range of design concepts and creative problem-solving techniques involving strategic application of motion elements and animation principles. On top of that, students are highly encouraged to focus on skill development in areas such as creative thinking, critical reflection, and project management.
Towards the end of the programme, students will be well-equipped with the necessary skill sets to progress to the advanced level of their choice of specialization — Advanced Diploma in Animation Design or Advanced Diploma in Video Game Design.

In order to continue to flourish, the games industry strongly stresses the need to attract talented artists who are willing to stretch their classical observation, drawing and creative skills. It also stresses the importance of a close and cooperative working environment in which these games artists need to understand the technical needs of the games production process to enable the team to produce the best possible outcome.
This BA Games Art course aims not only to develop skills relevant to distinct areas of employment but also to foster collaborative and innovative skills typical of digital entrepreneurs. In order to achieve this goal, at each stage, the course will feature an opportunity to collaborate with technologies in order to learn about industry practices in a simulated games studio environment.
