The Diploma in Applied Psychology is an introductory programme to prepare students for entry to the Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology. Students are introduced to key concepts in psychology and learn essential academic research and communication skills.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA

The Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology aims at providing a scientific understanding of mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these; with a special focus on the application of psychology in industry and the community.

The programme objectives are delivered through lectures, tutorials and laboratory work and a range of assessment methods including project work, presentations, reflective journals, written assignments and examinations.

The overall aims of the programme are to:
• Develop the student’s understanding of the scientific principles and theories of the mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these;
• Develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of psychological approaches and how to select and apply these in different industrial and community settings;
• Develop the student’s ability to communicate effectively;
• Develop the ability to manage time effectively and work independently or in a group.
